 1. Avoid the hottest hours of the day
Particularly in summer, irrigating should be performed at dawn or after sunset, to minimise water loss due to evaporation. |
 2. Mow the lawn often
Besides being more attractive, a mown lawn requires less watering. Long grass blades actually capture rain (or sprinkled water) before it reaches the grass roots. |
 3. Feel the ground
The quantity of water required varies according to how much sand or clay the soil contains. After watering, check that the soil is moist, rather than soaked or with puddles, which are not good for the garden. Claber timers will help to identify the ideal watering program for each soil type. |
